Evil Norse-Viking Boar Spear
This fabulous Norse-Viking boar spear is nothing but evil
looking! It was made by a armorer
from Arkansas who simply called himself Wolf. Wolf had found an abandoned sawmill from the 1800's deep
in the Ozark woods. Inside the
sawmill, he found some old circular saw blades used to but lumber. These were the huge blades you used
to see in the old movies where the damsel or hero would be tied down by the
villain, so that the saw blade would cut them in half. Wolf knew that this old antique steel
was all forged by hand, and was often of much better quality than modern
factory steel. Wolf took the
blades home, and began cutting them up to make weapons from. He made numerous swords and
knives. I had one of his swords,
and can honestly attest that the steel it was made from was the hardest steel
I have ever seen! A steel file
would not cut into it, but would instead just slide over it! One day, I saw this spear he had
created, and bought it immediately.
I have never sharpened the blade, nor did I try to fight the surface
rust that eventually covered it's blade. To me, it looked more authentic. Wolf even wrapped the spear shaft with leather, to give
you a good gripping surface. The
hair hanging down from the spearhead is horse-hair, I believe. The spearhead measures just under 19 3/8
inches long overall, and has a 16 inch blade that measures 2 7/8 inches
wide. The spear shaft and head
measures 85 1/2 inches overall length. This spear would work great for hunting
wild boar, fearsome wolves or unlucky enemies. |
